BRIDGING CONNECTIONS

For Disadvantaged Communities and
Those Forcibly Displaced by Conflict

What We Do

  • We promote and amplify the voices of forcibly displaced and immigrant communities.

Our presentations to high schools, universities, nonprofits and public sector include:

    • Screening of our film: Beyond the Statistics - Personal stories of forcibly displaced Ukrainians

    • Pane and Q&A sessions to have an open and candid discussion on the challenges and opportunities for displaced and immigrant communities.

    • Presentations and discussions to promote the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

  • Through University events, we engage students, our next generation of change-makers, to engage and understand global challenges that will instill a sense of purpose in their future and careers. Our impact is multiplied by sharing, teaching, and inspiring the next generation to develop projects or to engage, volunteer, and contribute.

We currently support programs at the following universities:

    Lehigh University

    Susquehanna University

    Temple University

    Penn State - Abington

  • We are calling on private sectors, educational institutions, governments, and social impact investors to engage and promote the need for volunteering and financial support to communities in need and integrate the UN Sustainable Development Goals in policies and procedures.

    Our initiatives:

    • Lunch and Learn sessions to motivate and inspire your teams and stakeholders.

    • Support philanthropies, nonprofits, NGOs and DAFs in program development and knowledge transfer

    • Consult funding organizations on project evaluation and support of the UN SDG 2030 agenda

    • Prepare and deliver presentations to funding organizations interested in UN SDGs and global social impact

  • Bridges 2030 assists forcibly displaced refugees through leveraging a network of connections that ease the burden of finding adequate care for the person or family. We are their advocates here and abroad.

I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something.

Documentaries

Our global challenges requires the attention of all and especially our next generations of changemakers.

We have a responsibility to share and educate world events to our youth to cultivate empathy and compassion. High schools an higher education must include in their curriculum global issues to build generations of global citizens to have purpose and compassion in their lives and careers.

We believe in the power of storytelling and films to amplify the voices of those in need. Via films to share personal stories and the determination of the human spirit, our message will lead to engagement and to take action.

Our series of films, Beyond the Statistics, starts with a film about the personal journey’s of forcibly displaced Ukrainian families arriving in Philadelphia and documents the significant efforts in Poland by nonprofits and the Polish people.

Congreso de Latinos Unidos

In the early 70's, Fernando’s family migrated to the US, a foreign land where they needed to adjust and prepare for a new life. The family was challenged by a language barrier and lack of understanding of their new surroundings.

This experience led Fernando and his family to connect with Philadelphia, PA-based Congreso of Latinos Unidos, a nonprofit supporting the Latino community in Philadelphia. Our initial efforts developed an after-school program for the younger children called Books & Boots. The program integrated the lessons from a team sport, soccer, with the need to build a good education.

Additionally, Bridges 2030 launched an annual program to provide Christmas gifts for the young children of families supported by Congreso. We donate gifts to 25 to 30 children and work with the Congreso staff for distribution in December.

Ukraine Crisis

The atrocities committed by the Russian invaders of Ukraine have resulted in over 7 million forcibly displaced Ukrainian citizens settling in various countries.

Many families have arrived in Philadelphia, PA. Bridges 2030’s initial efforts to assist and support led to meeting at a local Ukrainian church. Our initial fundraiser resulted in a donation of $7,500.00. Fundraising efforts continue around housing, furniture, work placement, and medical support.

We have also engaged in maintaining awareness and amplifying the voice of Ukraine and its citizens by delivering presentations to university students. Beyond Statistics is a presentation, available to any university, where we invite a Ukrainian citizen to share their journey to freedom.

Rally behind inspiring community-led solutions

Our purpose is to bring awareness to our shared global challenges by shifting the conversation from sympathy to empathy. We are no longer asking if we should help, but rather how we can help. Our goal is to bridge the gap between good intention and effective action with education, technology, and awareness. Together, we can ensure a healthy future for those in need.

Bridges 2030 is collaborating with The Migration Consortium in Warsaw, Poland, a group of nine nonprofits supporting the resettled Ukrainian communities, ConnectAid, a global solidarity network, and with a professional film production company, Be The Good Media, to produce a film of impact, quality, and emotions.

Beyond the Statistics will be distributed and presented to universities, NGOs, Cities and communities worldwide to ensure we amplify the voices of Ukraine. The efforts and support of the Polish NGOs delivering significant support and the comments of the Ukrainian people will highlight determination, courage, and inspiration in these challenging times.

“Bridges 2030 provides resources and a support system for myself and continues efforts to support my home country.”
